Standing Order #1: Organization of the Armies

1. The Confederate State of America will contain two field armies - the Army of Northern Virginia and the Army of Tennessee.

2. The Army of Northern Virginia will contain two corps.

       A. Each Corps will contain up to four divisions.

              i. Each division must contain one divisional commander and at least four brigade commanders.

                     a. Divisions with fewer than four (4) brigade commanders should be reinforced from other divisions in the corps or disbanded.

                     b. Should any division be without a commander for more than 30 days the division will be led by the senior BC in the division by default.

                     c. Should any corps be without a commander for more than 30 days the corps will be led by the senior DC in the division by default.

 

3. The Army of Tennessee will contain two corps.

       A. Each Corps will contain up to four divisions.

              i. Each division must contain one divisional commander and at least four brigade commanders.

                     a. Divisions with fewer than four (4) brigade commanders should be reinforced from other divisions in the corps or disbanded.

                     b. Should any division be without a commander for more than 30 days the division will be led by the senior BC in the division by default.

                     c. Should any corps be without a commander for more than 30 days the corps will be led by the senior DC in the division by default.

4. The creation of additional corps or divisions must be approved by the General-in-Chief.

​

5. Each army may contain one Chief of Staff (CoS).

       A. The CoS will serve at the pleasure of the Army commander.

       B. The CoS will receive 5 OBD points per month for their duties.

       C. The CoS will fill a spot in the army's regular Order of Battle (BC or above).

​​

6. Any additional OBD eligible roles, other than those listed above, must be approved by the General-in-Chief.

Standing Order #2: Mustering and Leaves of Absence

1. Mustering will take place quarterly for all Members of the Confederacy.

       A. Mustering will be done via the Department of Records (DoR) starting on the first of each month of each quarter.

              i. Army commanders may except direct email musters at their discretion.

              ii. With the permission of the GinC the AC may exempt a member from mustering for a set period of time. 

       B. Before the 5th day of each quarter the Army Commander will send a general notice to the members of the Army to muster, along with the link to                    the DoR to do so.

       C. Any officer posting in the DoR will be considered present for the quarter. 

       D. Any officers failing to muster will be marked as absent for the quarter and not receive any OBD admin or conduct points.

              i. This includes all DC's, CC's, CoS's, and AC's.

2. Members who have not mustered for two consecutive quarters will be discharged from the ACWGC by the GinC.​

​

3. Any officer of the army may contact the Army Commander and request a Leave of Absence (LoA) at any time and for any reason.

       A. All LoA requests will be granted.

       B. LoA’s will be set for an agreed upon time period.

       C. At the expiration of that period the Army Commander will seek to re-establish contact with the member and invite them to rejoin the                                  active ranks.

       D. Officers failing to respond to the Army Commander after the expiration of their LoA will be placed in the hospital for one month.

       E. Officers failing to respond to a final call while in the hospital will be discharged from the Confederate Army and the ACWGC.

Standing Order #3: Officer Expectations and Admin/Conduct Point Distributions

All conduct and admin points will be determined on a monthly basis to qualifying officers.

 

1. DC’s may receive up to 5 admin OBD points per month based on the following criteria:

       A. Has mustered in the DoR for the month.

       B. Undertakes tasks assigned them by the AC.

 

2. CC’s may receive up to 10 admin OBD points per month based on the following criteria:

       A. Has mustered in the DoR for the month.

       B. Undertakes tasks assigned them by the AC.

3. AC CoS may receive up to 5 admin OBD points per month based on the following criteria:

       A. Has mustered in the DoR for the month.

       B. Undertakes tasks assigned them by the AC.

​​

4. The AC may receive up to 15 admin OBD points per month (as determined by the General-in-Chief). The expectations you should have for your army commander are as follows:​

       A. Has mustered in the DoR for the month.

       B. That he faithfully undertakes tasks assigned him by the General-in-Chief.

       C. That he has maintained, updated, and secured the army’s records and files.

       D. That he has greeted new army members.

       E. That he has emailed and sought out members in jeopardy of being dismissed due to absence.

       F. That he is posting actively in the MDT.​

5. Each Army will receive 80 OBD points per month to distribute to their officers.

       A. Unused points may not be "banked" for any other reason and cannot be used in the future.

       B. No officer may receive more than 3 additional conduct points per month without the approval of the General-in-Chief.

6. Points will be distributed in the Department of Records quarterly by the General-in-Chief or any officer appointed by him to do so. These points will be distributed as requested by the AC's so long as they fall within the criteria set above.

Standing Order #4: General Officers

Officers above the BC level are expected to put the needs of the BCs above their own and respond to any and all emails sent to them in a timely and respectful manner.

 

1. The Confederacy will always seek to promote our best candidates to positions above the BC level.

       A. Any officer interested in holding a command position in an army should contact their immediate superior, their Army Commander, or the                          General-in-Chief directly.

       B. Any officers at the rank of Major or above may seek and/or hold a command above the BC level.

 

2. Officers holding a DC, CC, CoS, or AC position may asked to be relieved at any time and for any reason.

       A. All requests to relinquish one’s command should be made to the Army Commander directly.

       B. All requests will be granted.

 

3. Officers holding a DC, CC, or AC position may be removed from command involuntarily.

       A. Failure to consistently meet minimum expectations may result in an officer being asked to step down from their position. This includes the                        failure to properly respond to subordinates or superiors in a timely or respectful manner.

       B. Any action deemed detrimental to the honor of the Confederacy may result in an officer being asked to step down from their position.

       C. Any dispute over such issues will be heard by the General-in-Chief.

Standing Order #5: Army Medals

​

1. Each army is responsible for awarding their own medals.

​

2. New medals may be created only with the permission of the General-in-Chief.

​

3. Current medals may only be eliminated with the permission of the General-in-Chief.

​

4. Army specific medals will have no OBD point value.

 

Standing Order #6: Confederate Medals

​​

1. The Confederacy has numerous medals which are only awarded by the office of the General-in-Chief. 

       A. These medals may only be created or eliminated by the office of the General-in-Chief.

              i. The following medals are currently in use by the Confederacy. For a full description click here.

                     a. Jefferson Davis Medal (10 OBD points)

                     b. Robert E. Lee Medal (10 OBD points)

                     c. John Dragan Medal (no OBD points)

                     d. Pierre Beauregard Medal (no OBD points)

                     e. John Pelham Medal (10 OBD points)

                     f. Confederate Legend Medal (no OBD points)

​

2. Discontinued medals and ribbons will still be displayed and honored.

Standing Order #7: Promotions

 

1. Every member in the Confederate Army is eligible for automated promotions in the Department of Records “Field Promotions” area. All promotions above the rank of Colonel require the approval of the General-in-Chief to confer the general ranks upon the officer. 

 

2. Officers reaching the appropriate OBD point total, and holding the appropriate hierarchical position within the army, will be eligible for promotion above the rank of brigadier general. The Army Commander will put their name forward for promotion to the General-in-Chief in his next monthly report.​

       A. Officers holding the position of DC are eligible for promotion to the rank of Major General per Club Rules.​

       B. Officers holding the position of AC CoS are eligible for promotion to the rank of Major General per Club Rules.

       C. Officers holding the position of CC are eligible for promotion to the rank of Lieutenant General per Club Rules.

       D. Officers holding the position of AC are eligible for promotion to the rank of General per Club Rules.

 

Standing Order #8: Websites

Every army in the ACWGC is encouraged to have a website to promote their army, add espirit de corps, and to showcase their best features and triumphs. Website building and maintenance is NOT an expected role of any officer in the Confederacy. It is not required, on any level, that a member be asked to learn such a task. Nonetheless, it is expected that each army will have a website at all times.

 

       1. The General-in-Chief is responsible for making sure a suitable ACWGC website administrator is found and charged with the maintenance of the army websites.

​

       2. The website admin may be any member of the ACWGC entrusted to keep up the site.

​

       3. If no administrator can be found, or a website is no longer available, the Army will conduct their business in the ACWGC Forums.

Standing Order #9: Revisions to the Standing Orders

These Standing Orders may be revised at any time by the General-in-Chief. Future General-in-Chiefs may either adopt, edit, or abolish these Standing Orders as they see fit.
